If you are a fan of Lucknawi food, Kitchen of Awadh is your solace. The place serves authentic Awadhi Lucknavi Cuisine situated in Super Mart 1 market in DLF Phase 4, Gurgaon.
Just like the legacy of Awadh, this restaurant also has many interesting stories behind its commencement. Kamal Kumar Veer, the owner, was ditched twice by his specialized Lucknawi chefs. That is when he decided to learn the cooking of Awadhi cuisine himself from the actual khansamas of Awadhi cuisine. We must say, he has done justice to the tutorial and has excelled in each dish with flying colors and flavors.
The prices here are very reasonable and doesn’t exceed INR 350. Even though half of the business is mostly home delivery, it is not at all bias towards the interior of the restaurant. The public display board is maroon in color which is very appealing to the outsiders. It is modern from the inside and has a homely feel to it, said to be designed by Veer’s wife.
My favorites include Dal Gosht (₹350) which gives tough competition to Gosht Biryani (₹300), both have a taste of aromatic spices. Cooked with chana dal and basmati rice respectively. Since Kitchen of Awadh is known for its kebabs, Galawat Ke Kebab (₹275) and Kakori Kebabs (₹275) are a must. These kebabs will steal your heart with their soft and delicate texture along the perfect blend of spices and crust.
Besides that Special Chicken, Seekh Kebabs, Kathal, Murg Masala and Kesari Phirni are their specialty dishes.
